One hour of improvised ambient music recorded live in a secret woodland location near Berlin.
I started by sampling the sound of crunching leaves and me making some bird sounds into the mic. Then came the Volca Keys, delivering on some glorious analog thickness, perfect for combination with the Tempera to build up some nice, layered drones. Had a few fun moments programming in some more rhythmic sequences here and there as well (pretty nice to contrast with the arhythmic layers), snuck some reverbed-up vocal layers in and rounded it out with a few moments of singing the bass line by engaging the octaver pedal.
What a beautiful spring day for the first proper dawless adventure with the Volca Keys… I loved having it along, so much power from that little beastie! Playing single sustained notes on the keyboard took some getting used to but worked out just fine (not so bad if you take it real slow, I found). I imagine it will find its way into my bag for many more adventures.
It was a lovely day to be making sounds in the forest… glad I can share it with you all.
